Is anyone else's DH a grumpy twat?

NC for this.
My DH and I aren't speaking, he went to the supermarket and rang me and asked if we had chicken nuggets I said not sure but get some anyway because they'll be used through the week. His reply was "tell you what turn the freezer off and we'll just get rid of it" I told him to grow up and hung up, yes immature of me perhaps but he really pisses me off when he's like this.
Anyway he came home, put the shopping away and has now retreated to the bedroom to watch TV,
Is anyone else's DH a miserable twat?

He's not like it all the time but he's prone to a tantrum at times, the last time even our dd told him he's being a silly daddy and she's 7

Yes on a volcanic and constant scale. Now my ex- yay!

Yeah there’s a difference between everyone walking on eggshells for fear of an explosion and a constant tense atmosphere, to the occasional arsey comment which aI forgotten about quickly.

To add insult to injury I'm gonna have to go get my own wine!

@Littlemissprosecco it's pathetic isn't it 😂 @Alargeoneplease89 very odd, but definitely the immature kind of thing he says
@Littlemissprosecco must be a man thing, hope you're feeling better soon

It's not a man thing, it's a silly fucker thing. Shopping is only hard if you make it hard.

Mine isn't a smug post, but it kind of is on my behalf - as I wave from the other side. As a divorcee. Yes, it's bloody marvellous. Peaceful, bliss and free.
She types from her sofa, with what I want on the tele, with a glass of wine, which I'll clean up precisely when I feel like it.

Shit, I shouldn't have opened this thread. I'd just talked myself down over DH's latest ridiculous grumpy twattery, and now I'm vicariously riled up again.

Seriously79 · 08/07/2023 19:55

I feel your pain. DH is tired (so am I) and he's wondering around tidying up as though he's the only person in the world who is tired and does anything in the house.

I'd much rather he said I'm tired, I'll tidy up tomorrow I'm going to bed. But no, he will be a martyr about it all, and then stay up until 2am building lego and watching movies 🙄 and still be a miserable twat tomorrow 🤬

@Seriously79 my DH does the same! I do most of the cleaning but when he does do it you'd think the house had never been cleaned before with his muttering.

If he’s going shopping he needs to know how:

  1. make a list before you go
  2. keep eyes peeled for good deals on items that get used very often

I hate it when men start on a job and then involve their wife for most of it.

This.

He didn't want to be having to do the shopping, so he got you involved over the phone and took his temper out on you, then deliberately forgot your wine to punish you for making him do the shopping.
