Is this payrise worth it?

I currently take home £2250 per month working around 25 hours per week

Internal promotion has came up £2600 per month working 37.5 hours per week

My current job involves full WFH and I can pick the children up from school/be flexible. Basically as long as the work is done, I'm done. I'm very fortunate in this respect

The new job would involve 2/3 days a week at an office around 40 minutes drive, more stress & responsibility

I don't need the money. I'd be mad to take it, wouldn't I? I have a 2 year old and a 9 year old

The only benefits aside from the monetary increase is the more respectable job title and associated pensionable benefits but I'm 33 and future opportunities will arise

Think going from Civil Service EO2 to DP

Husband is leaving it totally up to me. He's a high earner so my wage can stay as is without any drama

It's really just the better title, I think Blush how do I remove my head from my bum?

Which is why this is weird because £54k is the equivalent of a G7 salary for most CS organisations, the uplift is well over £20k most EO grades. £43k is about right for SEO, how on Earth are you earning the equivalent of 3 grades higher as an EO? The DDaT allowance isn't permanent or pensionable so assuming it won't be that (and I doubt it's that generous, it isn't in my department).

Sorry I am completely missing the point of this thread!

Exactly @chohiad I'm a G7 on just under £50k, our EOs earn about half what I do.

If they were paying me G7 money to do EO work, WFH and PT hours, they could call me 'Shit Shoveller, 2nd Class' for all I care and I wouldn't be giving that up even if they offered 'Queen of all the lands' as an alternative title.

The grades mean nothing to me but I also thought that it sounded like a significant pay cut even without working it out. Unless the current pay uplift were temporary or the new role was very very likely to let you reach further promotion quickly I wouldn’t even consider it

That sounds ridiculous. Can you do your current role for more hours? Sounds like you'd earn more!

In no way does that sound worth it.
