Paint for a chair, chalk paint?

I’m starting to sand and paint a chair. It’s quite well used and I was thinking of chalk paint but does it mark?
It has arms which obviously I touch all the time. I worry chalk paint isn’t up to it. So would gloss be better.

Chalk paint feels absolutely horrible to touch. Literally like nails on a chalkboard.

Not that then. I did wonder if it was powdery and can’t stand that.

You need to seal chalk paint to make it serviceable. I use a painted on wax because I’m lazy. Polyvine Wax Finish Varnish. It doesn’t yellow.

I loathe and despise chalk paint. Horrible to use and horrible finish.

Go for eggshell instead.

We have some eggshell in the house and I find that also gets dirty
