What’s Happening In Your House?

How’s everyone’s Friday going? I’ve had a day off work but it’s been quite stressful. DD14 had her girlfriend round & she dyed her hair neon pink. It looks great but they haven’t cleaned the bathroom yet! Also they have had lots of drama & a deep conversation with me. Teens!
I haven’t done what I intended to do, including sweeping the downstairs floors. Hey Ho! Was going to do a mini roast for dinner but couldn’t be bothered to prepare the veg so DH suggested a chippy tea. We’re trying a new place. Glad it does small fish as I’m a real lightweight & can rarely finish a full meal.

I bought steaks for dinner and dd cooked them (perfectly - she's a genius in the kitchen), as it's her last evening here before a couple of weeks travelling with her dad, so (small) farewell dinner.

She and I are now watching Death in Paradise, while also on our various devices! My husband has gone to bed as he is only just back from travelling himself. He even had his steak bought up to him in bed, poor love!

Not that long home from work, finally finished an awful week at work, had a swim in the chilly sea and am on the sofa completely knackered. Retired DH is on the other sofa, less knackered😜

Adult DSes upstairs in their respective rooms and Dcat is having the sleep of her life on our bed😻

Dd8 is asleep, dh has just gone up for a shower and me, dd18 and dd15 are trying to find a film to watch. I have a glass of wine and we’re trying to entice the new kitten from behind the sofa where he’s hidden. Nice, chilled evening here which is good after a busy week of work, school and the small one’s dance rehearsals.

Kitten update - he’s now crawling all over dd18 and purring. I think he got spooked and panicked when he saw our 11 year old huge, long haired beast of a cat but he’s calmed down again now.

I'm relaxing on the sofa after my 8th chemo, then lunch and wander in town with dd2 who was off school. Off to bed shortly but want to google a few places to eat out tomorrow first. There was something else I wanted to look up but I've forgotten what it was 🤷‍♀️

Dd1 will (most likely) be listening to SNTV & checking Taylor Swift's website occasionally for signed Cds.

Dd2 decided earlier that she might fancy coming to a TS gig (obviously if we get tickets) so I'm going to hazard a guess that she will be tik-toking outfit diy ideas while waiting for her friend to come back to Minecraft with her.

Their dad's playing f1 on his xbox & occasionally shouting at it 🙄

Not much today - we (18 year old DD) and I were going to take dogs to the park then go to a cafe for a treat but she got up too late and it was too hot and Sunny to take the dogs out (one is 14 and can't tolerate the heat well). So we went to the cafe only which felt a bit naughty! Then I watched the tennis. Then cooked dinner and watched The Good Doctor with DD. Few chores in between that. Now need to take the dogs out for last walk but am watching Djokovic live at the moment! I live in Wimbledon it's all about the tennis (don't care the rest of the year).
Tomorrow she says she will get up early enough for the dogs!

DDs are all sound asleep and DH and I sharing a jug of sangria on the balcony. We arrived on holiday today and I’m exhausted but it’s quite blissful just sitting out here relaxing listening to the sound of the sea.

8 month old is teething and not her usual happy self. Bless her!
Eldest teen is here for the weekend after being at work and his dad's all week. His girlfriend is visiting from Berlin and brought the baby handmade crochet gifts!
Had a lovely evening reading Terry Pratchet and doing a bit of knitting and finishing off a linen dress I made.

On the sofa with a glass of wine watching golf. Bliss.

I’m in bed, wide awake for some reason so having a coffee and a biscuit or two.
All’s quiet otherwise, DH and dog are asleep downstairs, I can’t hear anything outside.
Today I will get the house tidy and pack for a few days away next week. Leaving DH at home with the dog so it will be peaceful and relaxing.

Saturday afternoon here, Mum and I are just finishing lunch (soup and sandwiches). DCat 1 is wandering around complaining about something, DCat 2 is sound asleep in the sun on my bed. Outside the wind is very blustery, but not as bad as predicted, at least here (we're under a severe weather warning today) and so far there's no sign of rain. I'll be getting back to my knitting when the tea's brewed.

Oh and DCat 1 is now doing a major excavation in the litter, so that's what all the fuss was about. There may now be post-poo zoomies.
