Non-washable? What does the care label say?

I'd probably soak for a while and then put on a delicate wash at 20 degrees C

What does the wash label say? What do you mean by non-washable? Dry clean only?

I just washed the curtains from an old caravan. I used a gentle wash at 30'. They were really old- maybe 20yrs old. Some of them came out of the machine in shreds. 2 sets with a different pattern were fine. Could you hand wash or try just 1 of them on a gentle wash to see how that comes out?

If they say don’t wash them, it may be because they haven’t been pre-shrunk. Cotton that hasn’t been pre-shrunk might shrink however you wash it. The lowest temperature and most gentle cycle on your machine will be lowest risk, but I would only do it if I wasn’t really bothered about them or they are big enough that some shrinkage won’t matter.

Thank you, they are long and pushed agaisnt abed so length ways they won't matter if they shrink.
I was more thinking of awful over all shape..

Cold wool wash. Or soak in bath if too big.
