How do you picture things being in 20 years time?

DD asked me this last night and whilst I gave her a generally cheery response (she's still little) it's set me into a bit of a tailspin.

Global warming and it's effects terrifies me, we do what we can as a family (although we're by no means perfect) but to me it seems the genie is well and truly out of the bottle and whatever happens next is inevitable and terrifying.

Then there are other factors like the Ukraine war, Brexit, homelessness.

I do try and counterbalance this with all the good things going on in the world of which I know where are many too.

Not in 20 years but if the population continues to expand we will see a scenario akin to The Road eventually. No exciting apocalypse Mad Max style just a world where we run out of everything and it’s so polluted. I am no eco warrior either it’s just obvious.

World will only survive with massive control, food, resources and population. Pretty dystopian.

I hadn't thought about that but yes that does make sense.

I'll be dead, thankfully.

I think it will have declined a fair bit, society will have got worse (more selfish, less community spirit) I think it will be wetter & hotter (unbearable for me in summer), jobs will be different. More people, still stretched services, more crime & a lower standard of living.
