THAT viral email dishing the dirt on George Osborne’s affairs

SW1amp · 07/07/2023 07:14

Has anyone else seen this email, which has been swirling around this week?

It purports to be for all the guests of the upcoming wedding between George Osborne and Thea Rogers (who he left his wife of 21 years for) plus journalists, political figures etc and lays out all the affairs they’ve both had. Fine, they are clearly both awful people and welcome to
each other.

But there are also a couple of mentions of GO having sordid ONS with teenage girls working in his local

His new career of high paid advisory jobs can’t survive this, surely?

Depends if all these allegations are ‘fake news’ or not.

One should always tread carefully when getting information from the internet, including on here.

SW1amp · 07/07/2023 07:37

They are nearly all referenced/sourced which suggests there must be quite a lot of truth in them

It sounds like one of those open-secrets-in-the-inner-circle things, like Epstein, Odey, Weinstein, Saville etc

Plenty of thinly veiled references to their behaviour over the years but nothing mainstream

But it sounds like someone has had enough of Osborne’s behaviour this time

Fake news & conspiracy theories always have lots of references, too.

The only truly serious allegations are about unconsensual sex. But they are just made up stories until someone comes forward to complain/confirm they were the victim.

The most likely outcome is the wedding will get cancelled. And nothing else.

millymog11 · 07/07/2023 08:53

I don't know whether it is true but I would not be surprised if everything in it was true.
The thing is that Thea Rogers probably does not care even if it is all true (she probably knows it all aready), she will just be pissed off about the wedding and he will only care about the impact on his career.

The world was ever thus.

A ‘made up story’ is one that’s been… made up

These might be ‘unverified by independent fact checkers’ but that doesn’t mean they are made up

But as the other thread says, the Daily Mail and Popbitch are rarely wrong on these things, especially stories that have been left up on the website for years (they would be taken down if not true)

This is the just the first time they’ve all been knitted together as a chain of events

It is weird that posters are so keen to defend/dismiss as ‘made up’ though. The man clearly has a track record as a sexual predator and the biggest concern here is whether the email has done enough to fact check

TooManyPlatesInMotion · 07/07/2023 11:46

They are both horrible people doing horrible things to each other and other people, and making their kids miserable. They both deserve each other. I hope the wedding goes ahead for that reason alone!

The only actionable thing is the vague allegation of possibly underage girls. But there is no actual evidence for that. As for the rest . . . . Well, I think most of us assumed it was all probably going on anyway.

millymog11 · 07/07/2023 11:51

It takes a special kind of woman to enter into a relationship with a man like that full well knowing what he was like when she met him/got together with him. Unfortunately there are lots of Theas in the world.
Whatever happens to them as a couple, she will be absolutely fine, she uses people and will continue to do so (as does he). The only person I feel even slight concern for (assuming they are getting married in a church/having a religious ceremony) is the priest who has supposedly agreed to marry them. What an absolute mockery of whichever church/religion they get married in.

millymog11 · 07/07/2023 11:51

Post script. I also feel sorry for any innocent baby they have had together/ have together.

I read about this in Popbitch but hadn’t read yet- have just screenshotted the whole thing in case it disappears again. Thanks OP.

😳
wow. Someone really hates them.

houseonthehill · 07/07/2023 12:45

I mean... the email does sound like it's written by a creepy nutjob. It has the written style of those weirdos who write screeds about Hillary Clinton running a paedo ring from a pizza restaurant or whatever it was.

I'd recommend a thorough edit.

KingJamesTheTurd · 07/07/2023 13:44

I have no positive feelings about Osborne, but whoever wrote that email is completely unhinged and very creepy.

houseonthehill · 07/07/2023 15:30

Maybe it's Cummings.

RoyalImpatience · 07/07/2023 16:40

Or just a very unhappy adult child, friend or a scorned lover. Can't see that it's creepy

I'm not so sure. I think anyone who goes to that length (literally) is potentially a creepy stalker type...

remember the famous quote

”don’t trust stories you get via email or on the internet”

Muhatma Gandhi, 30th Feb 1965

All I think is that someone needs to get a life if they are THAT invested. Sounds bitter.

Neither existed in 1965.

Itisyourturntowashthebath · 07/07/2023 21:12

As rumours about Gideon go, that's quite mild.

I think that's the point.

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 07/07/2023 21:14

February doesn't have 30 days, either.

IncompleteSenten · 07/07/2023 21:17

It's a shitshow certainly.

The part that disturbs me is the hint that he took advantage of a teenager so drunk she could not reasonably have been considered able to give consent.

That should be looked into.
