Latitude festival toilets and showers

Off to Latitude festival this year. First ever festival. Going with a couple of friends. One wants to pay for the posh toilets and showers etc, the other one doesn't.

How bad are the "free" toilets and the showers? Are the showers communal? Are the queues horrendous?

Thanks.

It’s a while since I’ve been to Latitude, but I would pay!!

Toilets within the campsites are fine to begin with, but they do go downhill after a couple of days. The portaloos/shewee tents by the stages were always OK and kept on top of. Showers - I never bothered! Unless you're queueing up at stupid o'clock in the morning, the lines were always really long. Just took some wet wipes with me to tide me over! Being 15 years older now, though, I'd probably pay to upgrade.

Obviously depends on your budget but personally I wouldn't bother. The normal showers are generally fine, albeit with a short wait. The loos are a bit grim by the end of the festival but realistically are you going to hike over to the posh ones every time you need a wee rather than using the nearest ones?

The showers and toilets in family camping are pretty good. Nice hot showers. Some of the toilets got a bit grotty at the end last time but nothing that moving onto the next set of toilets didn’t fix. Queues can be long for the showers but they are open 24 hours a day so pick your time.
I’ve seen queues of up to an hour in the morning but what else are you going to do then? If you don’t like queues then you’re going to have to go at a strange time or when the bigger bands are on.
The arena ones are fine (portaloos so obvs not the best), mainly clean, bit hit & miss later in the night but always a few usable ones 😅 masses of loo roll stacked up.

I've been to latitude quite a few times and the toilets are fine in the campsites. The pay ones are of course nicer but they are only based on one location so unless you are camped close you will prob just use the normal ones. Also will end up using the normal ones when in the arena rather than a long walk to the paid for ones.

Free showers at latitude are communal so just take a swimsuit and all good. And go in the afternoon for leas queues. (Family are individuals but doesn't sound like you are going with children so won't be able to go in the family campsite)

Or at glasto this year saw a lot using those solar showers in a bag. But it was a hot one. Wouldn't want to stand outside with a cold shower when it wasn't as hot.

Also take your own loo roll. Yes the toilets are refilled with loo roll but I always have a pack on tissues in my pocket as a back up. Same with hand sanitiser

Thank you for starting this thread. Haven't been to a festival in 20 years! My worry is about the queuing rather than the state of the loos.

How long are the toilet queues in the main arena please? Daytime or evening?

After two kids my issue isn't peeing, it's needing to go for a poo at relatively short notice!
