For DH it's guacamole...

Pancakes with bacon and maple syrup. I don't like most of the classic meat and sweet combinations (duck with orange, pork with apple, lamb with apricots, gammon with pineapple) so avoided it for many years, then DH ordered it in a cafe a couple of years back and I tried it and was converted.

Yes Avocado was one for me a few years ago. Just didn’t thing something green and slimy could be tasty!

Lentilweaver · 06/07/2023 08:19

Chilli icecream.

EileenBrysonsTeabags · 06/07/2023 08:20

Malaga

OrangesAndLemming · 06/07/2023 08:22

Sparking water - hated it as a kid. Now can’t get enough of it!

Snoopystick · 06/07/2023 08:24

Agree with Malaga!

Farmageddon · 06/07/2023 08:26

Exercise. I always thought I just wasn't the 'type' of person who enjoys it. Turns out I just needed to find an activity I liked.

Chicken chow mein, at least as made by the village cook. I dislike Chinese food in general.

Disneyland - went ‘for the kids’, was prepared to endure it. I was not expecting to really enjoy it!

Pigeonbilly · 06/07/2023 08:37

Chickpeas, red lentils and gardening... In no particular order 😀

Pigeonbilly · 06/07/2023 08:39

O and cutting the grass. I'm so much better at it than DH.

I assumed for years that I couldn't use biological detergent following an incidence of eczema in a relative's house. I read a thing in Which? saying that biological detergent problems were widely overstated and so I gave it another go, and lo and behold, it was fine and I've never had another problem with it . The problem I had years ago was probably a random fragrance or fabric conditioner.

Daily Yoga.
I'm taking it very slow but feeling the difference in my body already.

Raw oysters. Always assumed they'd be disgusting because of how they look but no... I adore them and will happily slurp down as many as I can afford!

EversoDetermined · 06/07/2023 08:48

Same here with biological washing powder, I avoided it for years till a Which report, now I wouldn't use anything else it gets the clothes so much cleaner.

Whichwhatnow · 06/07/2023 08:51

All inclusive package holidays. I'd always been very snobby about them - had always been into backpacking and independent travel. Then I took my sister and toddler nephew to an all inclusive in Mexico and it was a revelation 😅

Tarkan · 06/07/2023 08:54

Yes to the PPs saying exercise and biological washing powder (it's psoriasis with me, DPs still use non-bio and baby friendly fabric softener as that's all they could apparently use when I was growing up but I now use pink Surf and whichever softener is on a good offer).

I want to add a couple of TV shows I've recently got into. Inside No 9, from the title I had somehow assumed it was a political satire which really isn't my thing. When I found out what it really is I started watching and I'm hooked.

And just this week I started Ghosts which I'm also loving. From the stills it just looked like something that would annoy me, and everyone used to rave about it which often puts me off a show (and I despised Fleabag which I tried after everyone raving about it so that's put me off "popular" shows quite a lot too).

With both of them I'm enjoying that they're half hour episodes, so many programmes are an hour long now and sometimes I just want something short to watch.

LBC radio station. Didn't think I'd enjoy talk radio, but completely addicted now!

squashyhat · 06/07/2023 09:02

India, although some parts were challenging.

Malaga

Oh me too, I had a completely different idea in my head to how it really is. Spent a lovely weekend there in a great hotel, fantastic restaurants, art galleries, just a lovely city to visit.

Palma in Mallorca - similarly I'd been quite prejudiced...loved it.

Olives- always avoided them but adore them

Lemon and sugar on pancakes, only tried this in my 30s! I liked having them savoury

QueefQueen80s · 06/07/2023 09:49

On a non food note... anal! I used to be all "It's all for the mans pleasure, they must get off on causing women pain" etc until I tried it and loved it.. defo all pleasure for me. I sometimes prefer it over vaginal sex.
