So just need some advice as I'm not sure what to do in this situation. I work in healthcare in a job which means I have patients booked in. They generally are booked months in advance. In my current job, it's always been a pain in the arse when taking any type of sick leave as the management always get in a huff about having to 'rebook' patients. I was recently off sick for 1 day during an extremely bad bought of sickness during my early pregnancy. I was asked if I could make up this day on one of my days off as I have a day off in the week. I refused. I always feel so stressed and guilty taking time off that I usually work feeling like death. Well, now I've announced I'm pregnant and it's the same booking antenatal appointments in. The majority have been booked in around work so as not to effect it. But now my midwife has booked me in, in just two weeks time, during my working day as she doesn't work on my day off anymore and thinking of asking work is giving me such anxiety as we've been told 'we need to book appointments in our own time'. The travel time to the hospital and my commute to work means I'll need atleast 2 hours off work in the morning so that's two hours of patients that will need to be rescheduled. Sick of feeling guilty and anxious over this when I'm entitled to paid time off for antenatal appointments! My previous employers were much more accommodating and now wondering why I left. Just a rant really!
