Lost handbag on train - Kings X

Hi there,

Just wondering if this has happened to anyone else and if there is anything else I can do.
On Sunday, I stupidly left my handbag on a train from Edinburgh- Kings X. I got off elsewhere and had to change trains to my final destination (Leeds). I realised I’d left my bag and when I got to Leeds St I spoke to a member of the LNER team who contacted someone on my train and confirmed they had my handbag and that it would be taken to lost property at King’s Cross. I registered it online and was told to ring them. I’ve rang the excess baggage / lost items at KX for 3 days repeatedly and no one ever answers. I’ve not had any correspondence from them that they have the bag and I’m getting really worried. I can’t think who else to call, or do I just wait longer?

If you have confirmation they have it I would just go in person to the office to collect it. I’ve had the same happen before and that’s what I had to do. Since it’s your loss they expect you to retrieve it from where it’s ended up - they won’t move it to a closer lost luggage office or anything

Did they contact you to say they had it? I’m just worried because I logged it online and they haven’t emailed. Apart from the LNER rep saying they had it and would take it to Kings X I have no further confirmation

Them saying they would take to King’s Cross is probably all the confirmation you will get. I managed to get through on the phone but they certainly didn’t contact me. If you live up north do you know a Londoner who could collect it for you?
