DH was in a highly paid corporate director job which he has hated for the last 2 years. There was a restructure he didn't like the look of so he decided to take the money. I am relieved and am glad he is taking some time out.
He's applying for other jobs but also mulling over retraining to be a financial advisor.
I think he would be great at doing the actual job (he's clever, finds this kind of thing easy) but worried about:
- How long will it take to build up a business?
- If he buys a business, the financial risk for us?
- If he will be good at the actual selling himself part of the job - he is more of a geek than a schmoozer
Has anyone else been in this position before? - retraining - how did it turn out for you?
Any advice gratefully received. I do want to support him
