Please help me work out what kind of job to search for?

I need an in-school-hours job. Preferably something I’m qualified for, so it’s more interesting, but doesn’t have to be as I really want to enjoy it too!

I’m a primary school teacher (you’d think that would be in school hours job, but it isn’t and I am finding being a teacher and a mum really emotionally draining so don’t want to work FT as a teacher anymore); and I also used to be a freelance writer. I have no contacts in this anymore, but a good CV.

I also was once a buyer for a museum shop. (Loved that job.)

I have done a lot of things!

But now I need a job that is between 9:30-3 so I can pickup and drop off from school! My youngest is not ready for breakfast / after school clubs (going into reception) etc and my oldest struggles with them.

Any advice? I’m staring blankly at job websites and not even sure what to search for.

I am also up for doing a little bit of retraining as I always liked the idea of being an occupational therapist / speech therapist; but I definitely can’t afford to study ft. Some evening classes when DH is home could work though.

Please help!

As a family we need the money, and I’m a little lonely so I also need to use my brain and be with people. A wfh job isn’t ideal because of the loneliness of that.

Hello - I am a Speech therapist and work with OTs too. Unfortunately it would involve a lot of training! And probably just as emotionally draining as teaching. You could consider a SLT or OT assistant role - but you'd be looking at a paycut. Alternatively have you thought about intermediary work? That might be of interest to you. Good luck!
