Have I lost this money?

Partners birthday
Went online to book a hotel (malmaison) for Sunday
Booked a suite £230 and got the bank verify went back to malmaison and no confirmation email.
Money pending in bank
No booking or confirmation email
Malmaison have said I will have to book online again (but I can't afford another £230 and run the risk of it not going through ) or pay £260 over the phone (cheaper to book online )

Will I get this money back?
I can't afford to pay another £230 as that's my spending money

Well if Malmaison have confirmed your booking didn't go through then yes, the money will sit in pending for a while and then eventually be released back to you.

I have this regularly with Argos, after so many days the pending transaction will be reversed as the money doesn't get taken
