My cat is due to be spayed on the 11th. Anything I can do in the mean time?

She’s 9 months old and looks so baffled with her new existence. She doesn’t know where to put herself.

Baffled by what? I don't understand what you mean.

OhmygodDont · 04/07/2023 21:05

I’m guessing the op means she’s in heat.

Legwork · 04/07/2023 21:06

Zepherine she’s in heat for the first time. She doesn’t know what to do with herself.

Oh she’s knows 😂 just ignore it basically and make sure she doesn’t get out. You could always get her a couple of cat nip toys to take her mind off it a bit well get her high but yeah.

Get earplugs. Grin

Legwork · 04/07/2023 21:24

OhmygodDont 🙂 She’s shouty. Not so much at night thankfully, but for the last few days she’s looked like she’s a bit uncomfortable 😳

She’s pretty noisy tonight - anyone got any short term ideas? Love her to bits but I’d drop kick into next week at the moment

Earplugs and be very vigilant, she'll be trying so hard to get outside.

FormerlyPathologicallyHappy · 04/07/2023 23:09

Nothing you can do. Keep her in, if she gets out and gets lost because the toms chase her she’s in trouble.

allmyliesaretrue · 04/07/2023 23:12

Whatever you do, do NOT let her out!

Clymene · 04/07/2023 23:14

Nothing other than be absolutely vigilant that you don't let her out because she will try. Put music on to drown out the yowling

Ah, of course! No suggestion apart from drowning her out with music.

This is why spaying/neutering is recommended at 4 months!

Try to find a vet who does that... nearly impossible.

dementedpixie · 05/07/2023 21:46

There is a kitten neutering database that I used as my vet said 6 months. The database directed me to a vet who'd do my 2 boys at 4 months
