Long story but I'll keep it short... I was successful in a job interview about 1year ago with a large company after many interviews and there was an agreed start date for me in place. A short while (2 weeks) before my start date the company put a lot of stuff on notice. My job was rescinded. Anyway I got another job and though I was v disappointed, life moved on. Completely out of the blue the head of HR in Australia reached out to ask if he could have a meeting me with as he was in London with work. I was really excited and curious as to what this could be about. Basically he wanted to meet about finally getting me in and if I would be still interested etc and that the company was back on their feet again after a bit of difficulty- I was really excited as I'm not overly enjoying my current role. Anyhow I had told him via email after the meet that I was keen and that I was holding off other jobs etc if this was on the table and asked what next steps would be ( more to get a conversation started) he emailed back saying he was having a meeting with the CEO two days later and that he would arrange a catch up with me. 3 weeks have past and I have heard zilch. I'm not chasing him as I feel they should be coming to me with info, not me chasing them.
Why would anyone do this !?! I'm
Really cheesed off that my hopes were built again . Could their be a genuine reason?
