Periods after stopping pill advise…

Just looking for some advice (not ttc)

I came off my pill in December and my periods are still not normal, I’ve read it can take 6 months to come back but it’s been 6 months now and still not getting any kind of pattern back…
First period (withdrawal) - cycle 30
Second period (first proper period) - cycle 37
Third period - cycle 46
Fourth period - cycle 48
Fifth period - cycle 34
Sixth period - currently waiting on cycle 39

How old are you?

do you think you are ovulating? When I came off the pill 5 years ago for baby number 1 my periods came back straight away but cycles were anywhere between 20 and 50 days and very light. I didn’t think much of it but fell pregnant after about 6 months.

I came off the pill again 5 months ago and no period for 3 months. This lead to me googling and I don’t think I was ovulating, and I don’t think I ovulated for a number of cycles last time either I just didn’t realise it. Very long, short, irregular cycles and light periods can indicate this. Now my periods have returned and are much much heavier than on the pill, and I am doing ovulation tests mid cycle to see if I actually am ovulating.

Might be worth getting ovulation sticks and/or tracking your temperature daily to see if you are actually ovulating?

If you are over 35 they recommend GP after 6 months anyway, a year of under 35.

@stackers I’m 25. Been on the pill since I was 17 but came off at 22 to start TTC got pregnant straight away. Went straight back on the pill when my daughter was born so had been back on it for about 1/1.5 year before coming off it again.

@modgepodge Hi! I’m 25. I’m not sure if I’m ovulating I don’t really know the symptoms of ovulation. I’ve got a daughter and shes 2 year 2 months and when I came off the pill to have her I fell pregnant after a month (had withdrawal bleed then fell pregnant) so I must of ovulated then! The periods I have been getting very light though to the point where I could just keep the same pad on all day.
