Rome or Krakow - Christmas

So I'm trying to decide between Rome & Krakow for a break between Christmas and new years.

Can anybody recommend which location? We like to have lots of things around to do, Christmas markers would be a bonus.

If Christmas Markets are important, Krakow Christmas Market usually finishes on Dec 26th. The Christmas Market in Rome usually goes on until early January

Weather may also be the deciding factor - obviously it will be much warmer in Rome than in Krakow.

Krakow is beautiful in winter though! Much cheaper than Rome in general.

Rome has so many things to see. It can be expensive, though.
