Stick or twist - new career

Hi, looking for advice / thoughts…
I currently have a permanent term time only job in a preschool just at the bottom of my road (my 2 kids attend the primary next door so ideal location) pay isn’t brilliant but we get by.
I’ve been there for 7 years (working in childcare sector for 16 years) and I’ve got as high as I can career wise without going to uni to do a teaching degree (which wouldn’t be easy to juggle I know, and seeing teachers leaving at a rate of knots makes me fearful)
I feel a bit bored and unmotivated now with this line of work, and wondering if I should try something new…
I keep looking at opportunities in healthcare, but the nhs also seems quite dire at the moment….
Do I stick with the easy option until
the kids are older and in high school and look for opportunities then? Or would I have missed the boat by that point (my youngest of four, I’m 37!)
sorry for long post. TIA.

Retraining is never easy so it's important to have a clear plan and make sure what ever you do will suit you. How about using some time in the school holidays to get some health related work experience or looking at future Learn for some short courses to give you an insight into a) studying and b) health related careers.

That’s a good idea about the school holidays, thank you, I will enquire about some bank/agency shifts at my local hospital I think. See if I am cut out for healthcare!
