My five year old has had an itchy hair recently, I changed shampoo and as his hair had gotten quite long and thick we had it cut shorter. He's still a bit itchy, but I e looked over and over again and can't see any eggs or lice. This week I've noticed I've got a bit of an itchy head, and then I caught what I think is a head lice. I googled to compare and looks the same. I thought it was only a problem kids have!!

I can remember that awful smelling nit shampoo from my childhood and my mum combing through with a little comb... please tell me time has moved on since then

Get the head lice treatment and the comb and just treat it.

Also change all the bed sheets; don’t get into the same sheets after treating it.

Tea tree oil, conditioner and a couple of lice combs will do it if you're prepared to do the work every day for a week.

Otherwise, the foam stuff is good.

Adding tea tree oil to the regular shampoo and conditioner, putting their hair up for school and hairspray if it are the ways to prevent a recurrence.

Why would only kids get head lice?
you have to treat the entire family and wash all bed linen.
its a pain in the arse

Ours came home with nits today too!! The vamousse foam from Tesco is really good. Doesn't smell bad, easy to use and looking like reallt effective. Treat everyone. Change bedsheets. Change towels.

The nitty gritty comb is fantastic for getting rid of eggs and lice. It was the only way I managed to get rid of the dam things. Pay attention to the hairline specifically around the neck area as they like the warmth of the hair.
