Thinking of going to Krakow in the summer. Are there things to do for children?

It's a major city, there's plenty to do for all ages.

You can always take them out to EnergyLandia which is a rollercoaster park near Krakow. The salt mines are well worth a visit, you've got a nice castle to check out as well as a very nice botanical gardens.

Really it's more about what you like doing as a family, as there'll be something to recommend if you have more specific requests.

Zamek pieskowa skała is a great C14th castle near Krakow

I'd go to a resort on the Baltic coast with kids that age.

I'm going to say no as the main things I did in Krakow were:

Go round the Old Town, look at the altarpiece in the cathedral
Go to a lot of churches
See a lot of Holocaust related sites
Go to the castle - which has a lot of Nazi/Holocaust history as well

I think most of these have limited interest for ages 10 and 7, except for the castle but some of the stuff there was bleak.

Salt mines and going to the mountains would be better.

just thought I'd say my brother & his friends have just come back from a 4 night stay there was in a hotel somewhere (will get name of it) but whilst my brother & his mates were passed out drunk asleep they forgot to lock their hotel door & someone had crept in & stolen my brother's iPhone, his friends phone, a laptop, some sound decks & a passport (which got thrown in street & handed in to police) my brother has tracked his iPhone and its ended up in Ukraine!

@AnnaMagnani City breaks are generally pretty awful for young children.

Lots of walking, public transport where their parents end up getting confused and screaming at each other, terrible food in tourist trap restaurants and slowly walking around buildings looking at old stuff.

I rarely take my child to any of the big tourist attractions in Krakow (although the zoo is nice).
