Has anyone lost weight doing cycling instead of steps?

I just don't physically have time to always get 10000 steps in everyday. I was wondering whether I could cycle instead?

An hour of cycling as opposed to 2.5hr walk?

Anyone done this?

(I'm also doing calorie control diet and other exercise)

Yes - I do, and it works wonders.
I've found walking burns off a lot (as you can typically do it for longer than other forms of exercise) however cycling is much better for a good burn in a short amount of time.

Running / jogging is also very good for a quicker, higher calorie burn workout.

Thanks..I've also got dodgy knees so cycling much less painful than walking. This is encouraging then

You have not really said what you are trying to achieve but if you are thinking about general weight loss or fitness cycling will be far better.

Add in some sprints with low intensity (google HIIT) and you should see good results if you follow a good nutrition plan.

Walking and counting steps is an absolute waste of time.

My husband has lost 2 stone since December by using his Peloton daily and cutting out snacks. He has met his target weight now and still really enjoys doing the exercise.
