It’s gone a bit chilly! Only just reaching 19* in the lounge.

My body isn’t capable of heating itself. I’m like the undead.

No but I don’t heat my house to 19 in the winter, 18 and layers is perfectly sufficient for my household of healthy adults and an active child.

I've just made a hot water bottle for my feet

I did consider it this morning as I felt really cold and miserable. It’s 16C here but I’m struggling as I just got back from holiday last night ☀️
It started to rain on the drive back from the airport and I’ve just had to bring all my holiday washing in. 💦🥲
So far I’ve just had to put more layers on but may need to succumb to the heating for DH.

I'm only tempted to put it on to dry the washing, it's been drizzly for days but still kind of tshirt warm.

You seriously need to invest in insulation for your homes. They shouldn’t be getting cold so quickly

Britain has cold leaky walls as no one will pay the huge cost of upgrading insulation, preferring to focus on roof insulation. This is why houses get cold quickly. Most have no wall insulation.

Given heating prices nowadays I would be surprised it if hadn’t become more cost effective for many properties. I got cavity insulation last year for the part of my house that has cavity walls and it wasn’t that expensive in the end - equivalent to a few months of some people’s energy bills on here - but definitely made a difference.

I've put the heating on. Where I am, it's only 16 degrees here.

This is the first year I've put on a summer duvet. And now I'm in a fleecy onesie.

Duvet is being doubled up back to winter thickness tomorrow.

Surprised so many people need to put the heating on after a couple of days of cooler weather. You seriously need to invest in insulation for your homes. They shouldn’t be getting cold so quickly.

@GeraltsBathtub bit hard to do in a rentad flat.
