It’s gone a bit chilly! Only just reaching 19* in the lounge.

This thread is bonkers! Unless you've got a serious medical condition or are a frail 95 year old, why on Earth would you put the heating on in this weather?!
I'm in Yorkshire, it's wet but not cold, I've not put the fan on today but all the windows are still open and I'm wearing shorts.

It is obviously your money to set fire to as you see fit... Provided you are not one of the following people:
Someone who is worried about the personal ramifications of the COL crisis.
Someone who is jumping up and down about the impact of fossil fuel extraction.

Because despite wearing a jumper and having slipper boots on, my hands and feet are still icy?

You're probably just feeling cold because it's been so hot recently and your body has acclimatised to the extra heat. Now that the heatwave has passed and returned to an average temp, your body just needs to re-acclimatise back.
Putting on extra layers of clothes, blankets, oodies, and/or even putting the heating on is not doing you any favours,. It will make the whole thing worse for you as you're making your body rely on those things to heat your body, when by nature, our body is perfectly capable of heating itself.
