I'm up in some pain, and also worrying as I've just found out I have to have an operation in the next few weeks which was unexpected. Don't know how we'll manage the recovery period with two small children...

Why are you awake tonight?

OP posts:
Groutyonehereagain · 03/07/2023 03:13

I’m always awake in the night. I have chronic pain and a family problem of epic proportions. Have you got some suitable pain relief for your pain? Have you taken it?

Toddler101 · 03/07/2023 03:13

Feeding the baby, 2m old.

Sorry to hear about your operation. Have you family or friends locally who can support you through while you recover or take your children out for a bit?

Stressedgiraffe · 03/07/2023 03:14

Hello, insomnia and 2 other reasons. I'm having a mastectomy next week so I'm a bit worried and in the morning I'm having a very different haircut so I'm excited!
Sorry you need an operation.

Sorry to hear that OP, I really hope your operation goes well💐

I have chronic insomnia, I haven’t had more than 2 hours sleep in a row in many decades, sometimes I’m awake for a few days.

cassiatwenty · 03/07/2023 03:19

@firstclassticket ⚘💐

tapdancingmum · 03/07/2023 03:36

Sorry you are in pain and I hope the operation goes well 💐

We are awak and waiting at a bus stop for our transfer to the airport after being on holiday for a week. This is the last time I listen to DH saying he wants an early flight home 😀

LDNLCN · 03/07/2023 03:36

I'm sorry to hear you're in pain.

I have a cold and feeling sorry for myself. I was woken by my 4 mo to BF. Now I can't get back to sleeping, stressing about the future, London rent prices, and what career I want to go into after maternity leave (business I work for is closing in Jan so it's a good time to pursue something new.. maybe?).

FreyafromLondon · 03/07/2023 03:38

Insomnia (I never fall asleep much before 4.30am) and anxiety in my stomach which makes me feel tight chested and breathless.
I hope we all sleep soon ☕️

Sugargliderwombat · 03/07/2023 03:44

Because my 9 month old who never sleeps more than 2 hours, let me sleep for 3 and a half so now I'm wired. Ffs!

ShippingNews · 03/07/2023 03:52

Sorry about your pain, op. I'm awake because it's lunchtime here in Oz.

scrantonelectriccity · 03/07/2023 03:53

Andithoughtiwasspecial · 03/07/2023 04:25

Have been waking at 3 30 for a couple of weeks. No idea why.

Soozikinzii · 03/07/2023 04:31

Often wake round 4 am then think I might as well let the dog out because she's 13 now and has accidents. Also have pretty bad family problems . Hope we all get some sleep soon.

OnePotPolly · 03/07/2023 04:34

I usually wake around 3am. even though I don't go to sleep till around midnight. Sometimes I get back off to sleep but usually don't. If I'm still awake at 4am,
I get up and do some washes on Economy 7. Might as well save some money, as I'm awake anyway.

Thatsridiculous · 03/07/2023 04:42

Sorry to those of you in pain or with worries that are keeping you awake. @firstclassticket that sounds awful. Not sure how you cope after all this time. I’ve suffered low level insomnia for years - but only for weeks / months at a time. During times when I had no sleep at all I felt physically ill, It’s crippling. I don’t think people believe you when you say you’ve not slept a wink!

I am in a premier inn with my husband and 2 kids and dd2 woke up at 3.30am and announced she was going to be sick - she was then sick on the carpet and on her feet 😫 and then spent the next half hour being sick in the toilet. She’s had a foot shower and is now sleeping again, but the rest of us are still awake. The room is so warm that it took me until almost 2am to sleep. Tomorrow is going to be a joy! 4 grumpy and tired people travelling in a car together!!

Praying that dd2 doesn’t have a bug as we are at the start of our summer holiday. She suffers from reflux, but she also ate more rubbish than usual due to us travelling and getting fast food for dinner.

I'm at work 😩

Same. 3 hrs 15 mins to go 😴

Lostoldusername · 03/07/2023 04:59

I woke up and instantly had that feeling when you realise something - this is that I think my 2.5yr relationship is over. He's ignored me since Friday and its like I don't exist. I also shouted at my son in frustration last night before bed and I've got that awful guilt and want to just climb in next to him and cuddle him.

johnd2 · 03/07/2023 05:09

I'm awake because it's the middle of the day at the moment here!
