Letting go

My 17 year old (18 in a month) wants to spend a couple of nights a week at his girlfriend's.

I'm not happy about it. Should I just let him?

You can’t really stop him can you

My slightly older dd is at Uni and will be away all summer working. 2 nights is not something to stress about.

What is it you are worried about op?

eetee · 02/07/2023 19:27

Why are you not happy about it?

Depends how you want the relationship to be between you and your dc..
I left home a week after I turned 17...

Tbh I'm having problems letting go. Plus he fancies some other girl at college so I'm questioning why he's getting serious with someone he's not 100% sure about.

I dunno really, I probably just need to get a life😩

Support your ds in his choices even if they appear a bit odd pays off long term!

I'm surprised he asked your permission . He's almost 18 bro It really isn't your call .
You can give advice but what he does with that is his own business , he has to make his own mistakes .
