I'm so annoyed with my shape :(

I've lost 7 stone.

I'm 5ft5 and 11 stone.

I'm trying to find shirts for holiday and even the size 16s are tight on me.

When I was 7 stone heavier I wore size 20/22 but I never ever wore trousers or shorts because I just couldn't fit in them.

So even after 7 stone loss I'm going to have to buy size 18 shorts for holiday for them to not be cutting me in half.

All my weight is on my stomach.

I'm just so sick of my shape and buying size 18 when I'm 11 stone!

Unfortunately I am also apple shape and I think we just have to accept it and try to find clothes that don't accentuate the waist. I have been trying to loose weight and noticed that I still couldn't get into traditional (non-elastic waisted) jeans and then recalled that even when I was a fit 18 year old, size 6 and exercising daily, I hated my stomach.

In those days I assumed it was because I was too thin and so my tummy stuck out (as did my bony knee caps). Over the intervening 40 years I have put on lots of weight and my tummy is larger than ever so I have had to accept that there is nothing I can do about it.

I am still trying to exercise more and eat less to be healthier but I am never going to look good in anything with a fitted waist so I opt for tunic style tops, baggy t-shirts or loose dresses to hide it. At my age, comfort has become more important than fashion.

'11 stone is heavy at 5 foot 5 though. '

Alright, Princess Teeny-Tiny Tippy-Toes. I'm sure the OP is delighted to hear your opinion after losing 7 stone.

Cow.

Not sure how that's possible! I wear size 18 for dresses and shorts, and I'm 4 stone heavier than you and the same height?

Just bought a size 18 from Matalan today and they're lose!

Op did say it's her body shape not the weight as I'm 5ft2 and when I was 11st I was 12-14uk and at 13st size 16 but I'm an hourglass.

Or you could try mens style bermuda or shorts.i often buy them as i prefer the length and cut

I bet it's separated stomach muscles, I'm an inch shorter than you and 11st and I wear anything from size 8-12. I've had four pregnancies too BUT when I was 9st after my third pregnancy I had a tummy tuck because despite being that weight my waist was a size 16! I looked 8 months pregnant, I tried a PT and my GP agreed no exercise was going to get my muscles together again. You've done amazingly well, just wear whatever you're comfortable in, the label doesn't matter
