Vinted returns.

I received some shoes today that are a different size from the description. I have organised a return with the seller, but it seems that I have to pay postage. Is that correct? Surely the seller pays postage is the item is wrongly listed?

No you have to pay postage. It's one of the reasons I don't bother with vinted anymore, I was getting too many incorrectly described items.

scrantonelectriccity · 01/07/2023 20:07

You have to pay postage,it's really unfair

SimonsCow · 01/07/2023 20:11

If it was my mistake I would organise to send you the money for the postage but honestly I would just chalk it up to experience and only ever buy things with a photo of the label in the listing.

Wow! Thanks for letting me know. That is unbelievable!

I had the wrong item sent and the seller was really sorry and all but turned out I had to pay return postage. I escalated it with customer service and they confirm that was the case 🤷‍♀️

What a terrible policy. I had no idea.

It sucks, doesn’t it. I don’t understand why we pay buyer protection fee when you have to return wrong item at your expense :/

roses2 · 02/07/2023 19:27

That's ridiculous you have to pay return postage for mis-described items!

Questionsforyou · 02/07/2023 19:29

I sold a few things recently and mixed up two parcels. I offered to refund the buyers without a return, but they wanted the correct items, which involved them both returning them - for which they would both have to pay postage. I asked vinted if there was a way I could pay the postage, but they said no. It felt ridiculous when it was a mistake entirely by me.

Clevs · 02/07/2023 19:47

You could always ask the seller to PayPal you the cost of the return postage. A decent seller should agree to it if it's their mistake.

Capitulatingpanda · 02/07/2023 20:01

Some sellers might offer to pay for return to avoid negative feedback.

Katieandthekids · 04/07/2023 19:54

What's all that's buyer protection we have to pay for then?!! Just Vinted pocketing it?

triggers34 · 04/07/2023 21:07

I mixed up a couple of parcels a few weeks ago and refunded them, I got the buyers to swap numbers in order to swap parcels. My mistake so didn't feel they should pay for the return.

IrisBearded · 04/07/2023 21:16

I sold an item with the wrong size in the advert.

I refunded the item and just let the buyer keep the item to resell instead, is that an option? If it's only a few quid it's not even worth paying the return postage is it, madness.
