We love good food, fine dining and a decent drink selection. What's your go to? Happy for up to £100 per head.

Many thanks

Not fine dining but el torero is always fabulous food.

Some of my favourite spots across the city-
The Patricia (Jesmond) and sister restaurant Ophelia (Gosforth)
Peace and Loaf (Jesmond)
House of Tides and sister restaurant Solstice (both Quayside and 1 star)
Kaltur for fantastic Spanish food and wine
Long Friday (Jesmond - small plates/natural wines)

Thank you all, some fab suggestions. Khai Khai has been recommended a few times to us.

The Roxburgh in Whitley Bay is unassuming but amazing theroxburgh.co.uk/

We just went to Peace and Loaf for lunch today. Did the 13 course taster menu which is £70 per head, or they have a smaller one for £40. It was really delicious and I like that the vibe is very low key and not stuffy, so I can recommend it.

Another vote for Khai Khai.

Aveika is also nice, but not great on a Friday/Saturday night due to the night club downstairs.

Hi, my favourites are the French Quarter and Blackfriars. Also agree with the others about Khai Khai and Kaltur.

forkshoo · 01/07/2023 21:41

I think the best restaurants are:

Broad chare (personal favourite - relaxed and consistent)
House of Tides
Khai khai (Indian - similar to Dishoom)
Peace and loaf
Dobson and Parnell
Blackfriars
Cafe 21 (I presume it's still going - I haven't been in a while)
Cook house

Ooh, yes. I haven't been to French Quarter but I've heard really good things about it.

Mantra Thai is gorgeous!

QueenOfThe20StoneAge · 01/07/2023 21:56

Cafe 21 is now just called 21. Fine dining, classy but not stuffy. The cheese soufflé is out of this world 👌🏽
Peace and Loaf, Blackfriars, French Quarter and Dobson & Parnell also excellent.
Must try Khai Khai sometime, although my favourite Indian in the toon is Simla.

Blackfriars is our go to when in Newcastle, absolutely love it. So many fab options, I'd love to do a taster menu. Those who've suggested Peace & Loaf and Parnell & Dobson which would be yoir top choice. Think it was @QueenOfThe20StoneAge and @forkshoo
