Mattress?

We need a new mattress, I keep looking at the simba and Emma ones - I have hip and neck issues and am a side sleeper. Does anyone have one of either and what are your honest opinions before I go and spend a fortune

We have an Emma. It's the only bed I feel comfortable in and I hate sleeping away from home on other mattresses. I'm also a side sleeper as osteoarthritis in one hip makes it too painful to lie on my back for any length of time. Also prone to back problems. I find my Emma mattress incredibly comfortable.

However DH isn't keen on it - think he finds it a bit soft. That might be because he tries to stop his snoring disturbing me so lies near the edge on his side and feels like he's about to roll off!

My only complaint about it - and it's one I've read others make - is that it can make you very hot.

It's also the go-to bed for my dogs!

We have an Emma, not my choice I wanted a spring with pillow top last our last extremely comfortable bed, however now I would not be without it. I would buy one again without hesitation and I bought my kids them, when theirs needed renewing. I will say it took about 3 months to get really really comfortable, and kept getting better for the following year, now it is about 3 years old and more than the initial comfort, the bigger benefit is that it drastically reduces turning in the bed and therefore you get a much more restful night.

I would also add that I don’t think there is any heat difference? The newer ones are built differently than the original ones with heat issues in mind. And I think they must have solved the problem.

My friend has an Emma and absolutely loves it. I got a John Lewis collection no1 mattress recently and really like it. I bought a mattress in a box and really regretted it. I think you can try Emma ones in one of the big bed shops.

We bought ours end of 2019 so only 3.5 years old. It's not a big issue for me - I just use a light duvet.

I bought one last year for our guest room and visitors have commented on how comfortable it is.
