Hi,

Can anyone recommend a really lovely salad dressing that I can buy? Even if it's pricey and from online shops please 😊

Thanks!

I love a Caesar salad so any Caesar dressing hits the spot for me lol

Without meaning to sound like a knob.. Pre made salad dressing is never as nice as what you can make at home really easily. You can't beat a simple olive oil with really nice balsamic vinegar or a freshly made French dressing you can keep in a jar.

I am afraid I agree. It is very easy to create your own, even by adding a bit of mustard, keeping it in a jar in the fridge

I like the Pizza Express House dressing. It's sold in lots of supermarkets.

3:

1, as people say, olive oil, wine or sherry vinegar, maybe bit of lemon, salt pepper mustard shake it up.

2, Julia’s Caesar (geddit) Julia Turshen’s Caesar dressing https://heronearth.com/julias-caesar

3, Gwyneth Paltrow’s Mexican green goddess dressing (I leave out the sheep’s yogurt!) https://www.copymethat.com/r/v8oW23Y7V/gwyneth-paltrows-mexican-green-goddess-d/

Julia’s Caesar

In her cookbook “Small Victories”, Julia Turshen shares that when she was a private chef, the most requested item she prepared for lots of different families was Caesar salad dressing. She left containers of her version in refrigerators all over […]

I don't buy them - full of crap!

I make my own. Just extra virgin olive oil, apple cider vinegar and salt and pepper.

Paul Newmans Italian dressing is beautiful,

Tyrionapproach · 01/07/2023 10:56

We have some premade ones in the fridge for speed but home made is nicer, our favourites being:

Balsamic vinegar on its own
Olive oil and balsamic vinegar mixed
Honey and mustard

If shop bought I agree that the Paul Newman dressings are generally nice, we've also sometimes had blue cheese on chips or south sea Island on burgers for that takeaway taste.

You may need trial and error if you make your own dressing. A good option to buy is the Mary Berry original dressing. Shake it really well, so it pours (then don't put too much on). Simple and effective, really tasty.

I make my own:

Natural yoghurt
Dash of dijon mustard
Lemon juice, plus the rind grated
Pepper sprinkles
Splash of worcestershire sauce
Add in some parmesan cheese
