Is anyone else getting stupid spam emails with subjects about OralB but it's clearly just phishing?

I'm receiving multiple a day going into my normal inbox rather than junk and it's really irritating me now. I'm marking them as junk or spam without opening them now cause I figured I think the sender can tell if an email is opened? But it's all different spammy type email addresses, never the same one.
Don't know what's happened to kick off the sudden I flux of them but I haven't signed up to anything new. Very irritating!

Me too.

Your user name is appropriate for dental spam 😂

Mine have branched out into generic Dental Care today, I've had 6 so far!

My dental care ones go into Spam!

I'v had my Hotmail account for about 20 years I'm loathe to bin it, but it's getting ridiculous!!

I don't have this problem with my .mail accounts.

Touch wood, mine seem to have stopped.

If you look at message source code in the outlook app, the senders of these emails, oral-b, translator, lawnmowers etc use the same sender domain: [email protected]. You can make a rule in outlook if you have the desktop client to block it or use the outlook web app settings to block the domain, "currys.co.uk".
The are piggy packing a well known sender, currys to get through the spam filters. blocking this domain will unfortunatley block genuine emails from currys also, so any orders placed with them would need to be fished out from junk mail and placed in a separate inbox folder, eg. orders.

I'm still getting several a day, I'm glad it's not just me though! Really annoying

Hungrycaterpillarsmummy · 11/07/2023 09:18

I'm starting to get a lot about Stanley shipments. And the drills one. A couple of oral bs.
Very annoying!

I had a couple of days reprieve and now they are back with a vengeance.
I'm getting the usual oral b ones but also loads of casino ones. The email addresses on the oral b ones look like proper email addresses; office@menstonprimary and admin@amisgroup etc

HundredMilesAnHour · 16/07/2023 15:27

Same. I'm sick of it. 😡

Maggiesgirl · 16/07/2023 15:42

I've been getting loads of casino and online gambling ones too. Really annoying. I've tried reporting them and doing the unscribing thing ( I've never subscribed to them. Ex was a gambler so really against it.) Still getting them

Yes! Why is my toothbrush emailing me

SapphireSeptember · 16/07/2023 16:38

I had a weird one, apparently from my own email address, saying they had a video of me watching porn and masturbating, (although in very vague terms, like interesting video and having a good time, etc) which they were going to send it to everyone I know if I didn't send them bitcoin. As I don't watch porn I ignored it, although apparently there was a countdown after I opened it.

I get spam from 'Sainsbury's', 'PayPal' and a few others that look legit until I read them and look at the email address, which is always something random.

I’ve had the porn one too. And someone I know received one from ‘the police’ saying they were being criminally charged for being a paedophile! These scammers will say absolutely anything to get money. They have no morals and zero empathy for the people they scam.

No. I bought my first ever item from boots online, an Oral B as it happens! and now getting this spam…for another toothbrush!
Boots IT systems must be compromised.

katseyes7 · 26/07/2023 22:44

YES!! Those, junk about American home services companies (!? - I'm in Northern England!), Husk knives, but the Oral B stuff is relentless. Both in inbox and junk mail. I'm sick to death of blocking them.

katseyes7 · 26/07/2023 22:48

I've also had a few of the 'we've recorded you watching porn' (well done them, I've no idea how, because l haven't), and l get the occasional 'Meet Ukrainian women' and junk mail which looks like a school email address but is far from it.
I haven't a clue how l get this stuff, I don't look at anything dodgy, there's only me using the email address (so far as l know) and l have really good online security. Oh, very recently, a couple about a 15" penis. And the Paypal ones.
