I had one today and it’s really sore - a sort of stabbing pain. I’ve taken co codamol and can still feel it. Is this normal?

I think it’s fairly normal. I had a sharp pain at the site of the biopsy and quite a bit of bruising, but it only lasted a day or two.

Mine was sore once my local wore off but I used paracetamol to help. It was tender for a few days and bruised for a while .

Hope the results come out ok, waiting is so hard.

Yea normal here too. Sore and throbbing. I used a heat pad which was nice and had a bath too.

lucysmam · 30/06/2023 15:31

Yep, mine were very sore and uncomfortable. I was also surprised by how much blood I appeared to wash off when I got in the shower afterwards even though, in reality, it probably wasn't that much.

I hope your outcome is positive 💐 waiting's really tough!

Duckafuk · 30/06/2023 15:31

Yes normal. Also horrendous bruising for a week or so afterwards.

HermioneWeasley · 30/06/2023 15:37

Thanks everyone ❤️

Yes, very uncomfortable for at least a week.

Mindymomo · 30/06/2023 15:40

I think it depends on how deep the biopsy was, if they cut through quite a lot of tissue, it’s going to be pretty painful for a few days. I was ok on the day I had mine, but felt awful the next day and for 2 days after.

PollyCreo · 30/06/2023 16:29

I've had two lots recently, an ultrasound one and an MRI -guided one yesterday. They both hurt and stung like hell but it subsides after a day or two. Take it easy x

Thanks all for sharing your experiences

Paracetamol and ibuprofen together will help. Take it easy, the residual ache will go in a day or so. If you've got a heat pad that will ease it too. Hope you feel less sore soon and the outcome is good. Xx

Take painkillers and be very careful of knocking the site. Mine was on my nipple and I was terrified of catching it on something.

BCSurvivor · 30/06/2023 16:53

Biopsies are notoriously painful, especially if they are going in quite deep.
It's such an emotional time, waiting for results aswell...I hope you get a good outcome x

PollyCreo · 30/06/2023 17:15

Hope you're ok OP, it's a horrible time 🤞xx

HermioneWeasley · 30/06/2023 18:19

Thank you all for your kind words. They were very confident it’s a benign lump and it was just a precaution, so I’m not too worried.
