warning: graphic description

I thought I'd finally use the one I purchased many moons ago and try it for the first time.

Putting it in was actually OK and it was comfortable so I was sold! Until I tried to take it out and thought I'd never be able to!

It seemed to be so high up and like I was barely able to reach the hanging bit. Then I know you are meant to break the seal but again I could barely reach this high and couldn't work it out.

So I just had to keep pulling on the hanging bit, which was no mean feat as it was bloody/slippery and I could feel the suction and felt like all my insides were going to come out with it.

It did come out eventually and im partly worried I could have done some damage pulling it out while it was still applying suction. And my hand was all covered in blood.

What am I missing?

Sit on the loo and lean back and relax, bear down a bit and then break the suction by pressing on the side of the cup. You have to be sitting down. If you do it standing up, your muscles will naturally hang on to anything inside. Bearing down will let the cup descend enough to press on the side.
