Bra dilema

Ok, At the risk of being accused of starting threads covered a million times, I'm starting another one.

I absolutely hate wired bras and can't understand the benefit. I may be unusual that even as a 38 D, sometimes double D I could still go without if it wasn't for the obvious. Can anyone relate & what do you wear. I wear light pull on bras day to day and a non wired stretch bra for nights out. My dream bra is a stretch bra with no wire, practically see through. Do they exist? 🤦‍♀️

Are you sure you're wearing the right size or experimented with sizes? The only time underwiring has been uncomfortable for me was because I was wearing a bra that was too small.

I appreciate we're all different though - just a thought.

Molke

I can't stand the feeling of the hard wire, even when it fits. I cut labels off blouses too due to them irritating my neck. I know what people will think & that's fine😊

Molke

Thanks so much but to be fair they're similar to bras I own. My favourite bra for special occasions was a bit like fine support tights, no wire but cant find it now 🤷‍♀️

I 100% relate. I'm a 38GG and cannot bear wires and clasps. In fact bra bands have given me 3 infected cysts in the last 20 years that have needed to be surgically removed. I live in primark sports bras which are soft crop tops. Comfort all the way.

eyesfullofstars · 29/06/2023 19:20

I hate underwires and have tried so many non-wired bras that are also awful. I now live in Sweaty Betty Stamina sports bras and they are the comfiest things I’ve ever worn. I’m no longer desperate to get out of my bra at the end of the day.

Silverseas1 · 29/06/2023 19:23

I'd go without if it wasn't for the nip show 🤦‍♀️🤣
I might just start, I've heard it's a trend.

I gave up on wires a few years ago. Size around 36E. Live in sports bras and those pull on bralet style ones, all with a thin pad in them cause I don't like my nips showing. Weirdly I don't mind other folks on show but self-conscious about my own 😅

Occasionally I'll go braless but then use boob tape to stop them moving too much. I find I get sore if I let them be totally free too much, especially when walking a lot.

I'm actually toying with trying to make own own... Cause I'd like some night out/dressy bras but they tend to all be totally unpadded or have wires.

Ahhhhhbisto · 29/06/2023 19:33

Not see through but avon the one bra's are so so comfortable and give nice support and shape.

I found out by accident as ordered one for an upcoming mri so wanted totally metal free. I have ordered 3 more since then!

OhSmitty · 29/06/2023 19:47

I'm not even bothered about the nips on show. I'm harking back to the Jen Aniston look on friends, she was all about the nipples. As long as they're pointing in the same direction, I'm good 😄

CalistoNoSolo · 29/06/2023 19:59

Uniqlo do no wire bras which I find super comfy. They aren't exactly thin though.

Silverseas1 · 29/06/2023 19:59

If there are bra designers out there, here is my brief. We don't all need uplift. We don't all need support. There are boobs out there that just want them contained. I promise I'll be first in line, so no wires, no padding, no thick sports wear material, in fact anything other than let's not have them bouncing about🤣

We need to protest. There are women who have boobs who want to wear bras and they don't need scaffolding. WHY? do designers asume all bigger breasted women need to be uplifted with wires.

Try Lemonade Dolls. One of their styles is a fine mesh which sounds like what you are looking for

I'm thinking once I'm done breastfeeding I will keep my nursing vests. I wear them without a bra they have enough support to get by but not restrictive and no wire

flexigirl · 29/06/2023 21:41

Mine are made by a brilliant little company called radiant chaos . There are several styles available and I have the comfort one, the standard front with cross strap and the spaghetti strap one. In lots of patterns! I'm a 40g in classic bra sizes so some fairly hefty jugs to contain ! Can't stand wires either

Silverseas1 · 29/06/2023 22:24

Just noticed I missed out an M in dilemma 🤦‍♀️
Thanks for not highlighting it, no excuse & not even a typo 🤦‍♀️

I gave up wired bras when my first child was a toddler. I'm a J cup and the straps twist as soon as I put a bra on. I just wear Molke now.
