Car insurance for new drivers - Not Marmalade

Who are you using to insure a new driver?

Our insurance company doesn’t want to insure new drivers.
We are using Marmalade for dc1 but you can’t have two black box in the same car so we can’t use them for dc2….

Any recommendation of who we could use instead?

Direct Line.

DS is insured with Ticker, but that is with a black box. You can't have two policies on the same car unless it's a bolt on policy so I'm a bit confused by your question.

Direct line ...my DS has an app...not a black box

any recommendation here is not guaranteed to be the best fit for you given that quotes rely entirely on your personal situation: where you live, where you keep the car, what kind of car, credit ratings, accident history of people in the household / named drivers, occupation etc etc so your best bet is a comparison site

However it sounds like your young drivers are going to be sharing the same car? In which case always approach the current insurer first and see if the second child can be a named driver on the current policy

The marmalade black box can cope with 2 drivers- we all have the app and it links to whoever is driving the car. will be far cheaper to have 2 young drivers on the same policy- only one can drive at a time so the risk is shared.

That’s interesting because when we contacted them, they said it wasn’t possible!!
Will try again.
