Chicken pox - prevent scarring?

Hello wise Mumsnetters!

I'm dealing with my second round of chicken pox in a month. First my two year old got it and now, a full three weeks later when I thought we were in the clear, my five month old has got it.

My two year old's face is clearing up nicely but he only had fairly small spots there. He had a couple of giant ones on his back and scalp which I fear may turn into craters.

My five month old has fewer spots so far but she has an absolutely massive one right in the middle of her face. Are there any preventative measures I can take to treat it so it doesn't scar?

Thank you.

Piriton is good for taking the lumps down .

Is it? I thought it was just to relieve itching. I'm not in the UK but my son was prescribed an antihistamine on about day 5 and the bottle is still mostly full.

100% Piriton.... give it when you see the first few and it seems to stop the spread and takes out the itching!
