Can anyone tell me what size a fixed bed is in a caravan? Is it double or king? Thanks for your help.

Depend on the van

Can be smaller than a normal double

King would be less usual need a large van but does happen

Some of them are shaped too, like a corner cut off. Okay if for one person but can be cramped for two, specially if tall. You usually get a fixed rectangular bed if you look for a transverse version.

I’m our experience, if you are asking about a towing caravan, I believe that most of them will be a scant 4’6”. (Unbearable on hot summer nights!)
Each manufacturer will build to a different spec’ so check them out. It would have to be a big & wide or long caravan to accommodate a king size but others may come along who know better.

Bear in mind that if one of you wants to get out in the night you might have to climb over a sleeping partner to get out to the loo unless you find a bed you can walk all the way around.

Static caravans are a different animal & I think do come with king size beds sometimes.

Take a tape measure with you when you start looking! It’s a massive learning curve. Do your research.

If you can afford the Bailey Alicanto Grande Porto, it has a kingsize bed, it's not cheap at £39k but a lovely caravan.

Thank you all. This is to hire for an event so I am thinking about layout. A van that’s been offered is a Sprite Major 4SB which has a fixed bed but I don’t think myself and DH will fit on it comfortably.
