Did anyone else have an external company that came into their sixth form to teach a one-day "workplace skills" course? I was reminded of this earlier and the person I was speaking to about it couldn't believe it. Most of it was boring but a couple of bits were insane - we had to negotiate if we wanted to go to the toilet and they genuinely would not let us leave if we didn't "convince them". We had to be back two minutes before the end of the lunchbreak or else we wouldn't be allowed an afternoon break (teaching the importance of punctuality I guess). but the course facilitators deliberately came back ten minutes late to... I don't know... teach us something? I don't know what the point was. I remember giving furious feedback on the form (I was a righteous little seventeen y/o). I don't know what we were meant to have learned (we were a bunch of high achievers with good records/attendance anyway). Just a weird memory and I wondered if anyone else experienced this?
