Is there anything i can do about this?

Ive been intentionally and gradually losing weight through diet and exercise over the last 2 years and I despise this bit of myself.

Im a healthy BMI, size 10 and regardless of exercise cant seem to do anything about this sagging on my tummy.

It's ridiculous and vain but it really gets me down.

Has anyone any experience of ways to firm, tighten or improve this area?

Thanks in advance.
(Sorry about the pants pics!)

Lots and lots and lots of water, massage daily, and lots and lots of core work, crunches and plank daily to collapse. You should see results after a year to 18 months but it will be gradual and HARD work. good luck.

Thank you @Olortonma

I drink 3l of water a day anyway but i hadn't considered more might help so thanks for that.

I do have a high percentage of core within my training as i was originally following a post partum program (i cant do any crunches because of pelvic floor issues)

Are there any specific lower tummy exercises you could recommend?

I worry im just stuck with it

TIA

It depends on what is under there- if it is fat then it's all down to diet. Cut out all sugars etc, abs are made in the kitchen not the gym. Exercise will help of course and give definition but generally it is the diet that matters.

If it is just loose skin then nothing will get rid of it apart from surgery.

As a PP says, it depends what the root cause is really. If it is loose skin then surgery will be your only option.

But you mention being post partum - how far post partum are you? If it's not been that long (say less than 6m - 1yr) since you had the baby then I would give it another 6 months before trying anything drastic. Your body will still be recovering.

Thanks again all.

My last baby was 3 years ago and I've gradually been dieting and exercising over the last 2 years I'm mostly happy as Ive managed to lose 2.5 stone, drop 2-3 dress sizes, but its that area, its looks ok when I'm dressed but naked is another thing.

Its the hanging w shape thats i loathe!

I could look at cutting out sugar more so will definitely work that in too!

I'm following with interest as I look very similar to you OP and would love to do something about it

I don't think honestly that there is much you can do for loose skin after weight loss except surgery.
I have similar,, I just wear undies that cover it.

Minfilia · 28/06/2023 14:20

You can’t tighten loose skin unfortunately. The only option is surgery.

You can lose excess fat, you can gain muscle, but no amount of diet or exercise affects loose skin.

One of the many joys of pregnancy.

I would say though that you don’t have loads of loose skin, just what you’d expect from pregnancy, but only you know whether you can accept it or not. My friend didn’t and had surgery but honestly, I personally think a bit of natural looking skin is better than the tightened waxy version and massive scar post surgery, but each to their own!

JeminaSunshine · 28/06/2023 15:30

It would need a op to remove but I think it looks absolutely fine.

TheFormidableMrsC · 28/06/2023 16:04

I really struggle with similar. If I'm not retaining water it's not too bad but my wrinkly baby skin is not going to go away without surgery. Planks help a lot and having a strong core will stand you in good stead anyway. It's a bloody nuisance!

TickTockBaby · 28/06/2023 19:45

Thanks everyone.

Ill keep going with my current lifestyle add more water consider how to cut down on sugar.

Im almost tempted to regain a little weight in hope it plumps out the area- not sure spot specific weight gain would be achieved, desperate times! 🫣
