What the heck is this rash??

Friday evening I was at an outdoor pool , it was warm, abd the next day I noticed what I thought was sunburn at the top of my thighs, on the typically while bits. Odd that it was nowhere else though, it was warm but not hot and I had suncream on.

It looked a bit raised, pink, but wasn't sore like sunburn.

I used aftersun. Yesterday it felt itchy . Today it has spread. The redness is gone, but its bumpy and itchy.

There is chicken pox at the DC school.

What the heck is this rash??

Actually, scrap that, I zoomed and they're blisters, aren't they?

Bemyclementine · 28/06/2023 08:33

They are turning into blisters but it look like a bad case of sunburn to start, raised puffy, pink. All over the area. Although it would have been very unusual to burn in the circumstances.

Thus area wasn't shaved/waxed or anything.

I'd nip down to the chemist and speak to the pharmacist. Did you try and antihistamine?

Bemyclementine · 28/06/2023 19:21

I have been at work all day. I think it might be a combination of factors, I went for a walk yesterday lunchtime wearing chub rub shorts. I havent wirnthem today and it subsided through out the day. Worse again now that I'm hit and sticky.

Try Aloe vera (if you have plants, snap it and rub it in) - after a cold shower. Hopefully will subside again.

Shingles?

beatingtheodds · 28/06/2023 20:01

Looks like shaving rash?

Bemyclementine · 28/06/2023 22:09

It's def not shaving rash. It's not an area I shave.

Not sure about shingles, I looked it up snd doesn't seem to fit. It has worsened again thus evening after a bath . (I haven't got a shower...)

Just taken allergy medicine (children's, all I've got!)

Not sure whether to apply anything. Sudocrem, hydrocortisone, germolene, E45??

I would get it checked out because it does look a bit like shingles and if it is you want to get on top of it quickly because it gets real painful real fast. Get a docs appt if possible to rule it out

MaggyNoodles · 28/06/2023 22:38

It's not shingles. Google 'Hot tub skin rash'. Get treatment quickly as it can take ages to get rid of.

kafkascastle · 28/06/2023 22:48

It could be shingles given you have blisters and have been around people with chicken pox. When I had it I couldn’t have a bath or a shower as it made it worse.

AmyandPhilipfan · 28/06/2023 22:49

Were you using any inflatables or foam type floats? My kids always seem to develop rashes after swimming if they've been using any sort of equipment.

Copperoliverbear · 28/06/2023 22:55

Start of shingles ?
Allergy ?

JustGotToKeepOnKeepingOn · 28/06/2023 23:03
