Home made baked beans.

Cozytoesandtoast00 · 29/06/2023 19:11

I make a big salad at the beginning of the week with salad variations; sugar snap peas, grated beetroot etc.
Have that with about 5oz of chicken mixed with yogurt and various pesto's (basil, chilli etc)
Sprinkle with cheese!

quirkychick · 29/06/2023 19:20

I often have salad with:

Eggs of some sort eg scrambled, omelette, hard-boiled etc
Tinned fish
Leftovers from last night's dinner eg. chicken, fish

Add in extras like olives, capers, roast veg etc.

Various different types of omelette and recently being having one of those high protein yoghurts. Fills me up all day!

LadyMonicaBaddingham · 29/06/2023 19:23

Cottage cheese with prawns or chicken.

Steak with spinach and quinoa

Greek yoghurt tzatziki with grilled chicken strips

If you’re happy with the protein in your evening meal then you can just double up on portion sizes and have the same meal for lunch the next day.

Parisj · 29/06/2023 19:27

For easy lunches I do pre steamed Salmon fillets or mackerel and salad. Tofu with celery, grapes, Sri Lankans spice and lime juice. I make a chickpea and tofu curry and put hard boiled eggs on top which is delicious. Wholemeal wrap filled with generous portion of houmous and two crushed falafel.

SeasonsBleatings · 29/06/2023 19:28

Two boiled eggs make an easy option with salad and seeds

PenguinTattoo · 29/06/2023 19:29

A big tuna or chicken salad. A good salad with beetroot, sweetcorn, croutons, etc, not just iceberg, toms & cucumber. Tinned tuna or a chicken breast are really high protein.

ManyATrueWord · 29/06/2023 19:35

I have thin bread with lots of meat. Or wraps.

porridgeisbae · 29/06/2023 19:42

I don't cook much so salmon ciabatta/ bagel. Not actually particularly high cal like the myths say about bagels. I have a lot of other things with protein powder ( which is actually virtually the cheapest source of protein for the right brand, such as The Bulk Serious Protein) so it works well. I make protein cocoa or protein porridge so it can add up to a good amount of protein over the day. I qualified as a personal trainer, so I do know what I'm doing.

Protein wrap (Aldi). I fill it with as much chicken as I can and blob of hoisin sauce spread on it and then loads of spring onions and cucumber. Delicious. Very filling.

Absolutely second this. I'll add blueberries to the list, really delicious

Itisyourturntowashthebath · 29/06/2023 20:21

@IsThat are you working out loads or are you after losing weight?

Tinned sardines are probably the best value for money protein.

YouJustDoYou · 29/06/2023 20:26

Chicken/prawn salad, fish/prawn stews/soups, chicken/mince bibimbap with egg

Phineyj · 29/06/2023 20:35

Delphi avocado and hummus spread is delicious and very high protein for the volume.

ShinyAppleDreamingOfTheSea · 29/06/2023 20:59

I tend to have salad with some kind of leaves, chopped pepper, tomato, avocado; sometimes sweet potato or olives or cold rice.

Then I add a couple of items out of the following so I have two protein sources.

Half tin beans, chickpeas or lentils, tuna, prawns, cottage cheese or feta cheese.

I don't eat meat and rarely have eggs unless an omelette or scrambled eggs - which I occasionally have as an alternative to the salad .

RachelHair · 29/06/2023 21:10

Prawns or chicken, salad, and some cheese

gogomoto · 29/06/2023 21:11

Cheese omelette, or just cheese. Big cheese fan
