What time on average does your post come?

I’m sitting here waiting for an important letter, and it dawned on me that when I was growing up, the post was always here before we left for school at 8am! These days it’s usually late morning, 11ish. My previous house it was between 2 and 4pm, so an improvement on that at least!

Our posties are amazing here so no issues, just interested to know the variety in times elsewhere whilst I’m impatiently waiting 😂

Ours comes at around 12:30pm.
Didn't there used to be two deliveries a day way back when (50s/60s?), morning and afternoon?

Cheezecake · 26/06/2023 08:49

Late morning/ early afternoon. The good old days of being able to check your post at breakfast went years ago with cost efficiencies and not paying posties for antisocial hours.

crossstitchingnana · 26/06/2023 08:50

1pm. I remember the early and late post.

caringcarer · 26/06/2023 08:55

DazzleBlind · 26/06/2023 09:02

SwirlyShirly · 26/06/2023 09:03

Between 1-2pm ish, sometimes as early as 12am

ThanksItHasPockets · 26/06/2023 09:05

Between midday and 1pm.

@BonnieGlasses there was a second post until 2002!

Ohdearwhatnow4 · 26/06/2023 09:05

9-9.30.

DuckBushCityLimit · 26/06/2023 09:08

At the moment, any random time between about 10am and 5pm, often with no post at all for a week or more at a time then a massive bundle. Our delivery office is having major problems.

tigger1001 · 26/06/2023 09:09

Between 12-2

RuthW · 26/06/2023 09:13

Between 11-5

MrsDanversGlidesAgain · 26/06/2023 09:13

Usually lunchtime 12-12.30

hettiethehare · 26/06/2023 09:15

Lunchtime here as well - between 12 and 1. Not every day though.

I remember first and second post as well - first was before 8 and second came around 11.

chipsandpeas · 26/06/2023 09:15

2ish for me

YorkieTheRabbit · 26/06/2023 09:19

Our regular postie delivers between 8.30-9. If she’s off, it can be around 11am.

BillieShears · 26/06/2023 09:20

About 1pm.

Whwn did they stop 2nd post? googles

ArseInTheCoOpWindow · 26/06/2023 09:20

We don’t seem to actually get post anymore. Nothing for days, then a load through the door once a fortnight.

TheYearOfSmallThings · 26/06/2023 09:21

When we least expect it.

Could be 6am, could be 2pm, sometimes the Saturday post seems to arrive overnight and be waiting on a Sunday morning...but I will say it all arrives these days, which used not to be the case.

GETTINGLIKEMYMOTHER · 26/06/2023 09:22

Usually 11-ish. Our postman is lovely. Now and then I’ve had him collect heavy parcels - postage paid and label printed via Click and Drop. They used to charge 60p for this, but it’s now free.

Coronationstation · 26/06/2023 09:24

Around 10:30-11 I think. I also don’t get post for days and then get loads at once.

I can't find any reference to Second Post anywhere. Was it called something else? Everything just references first and second class.

It can't have been all that long ago because I recently had a Facebook memory come up with me being shocked that my post didn't arrive until the afternoon. Oh sweet summer child.
