Have you ever applied suncream to a stranger?

Went to the beach by myself and the middle of my back is burned despite my best efforts.

No I didn’t ask a stranger to apply it, but firstly have you ever?

Secondly, what are those sticks like that you can buy on Amazon to apply suncream?

If you'd asked me I would have helped.

I'd only ever help a woman though I think.

Reugny · 26/06/2023 05:56

Yes I have.

To women's backs.

Don't understand why you would want to risk being burnt.

HubbaBubbaJubba · 26/06/2023 06:02

Haven't... but absolutely would... I'd even offer if I saw someone struggling (especially with an already burned back)... probably only to another woman though.

Tbh I didn’t ask as thought I’d succeeded 😀. I would too I think

I've never done it and I don't think I would.

Campervangirl · 26/06/2023 06:19

You need to buy a suntan lotion in a spray then you can do it yourself, it's a bit hit and miss but better than nothing.
I'd help a stranger but only if it was a woman, if someone asked me I wouldn't think it odd because everyone knows you can reach your back

PissPotPourri · 26/06/2023 06:26

I haven’t, but I was sorely tempted to spritz a woman as she passed me on a narrow pathway a couple of weeks back. She was so red I needed my sun glasses to look at her

lljkk · 26/06/2023 06:32

Not suncream but E45 at the pool to a lady with funny skin condition. She said she needed to extra moisturise after swim and seemed completely sincere.

YouCantBeSadHoldingACupcake · 26/06/2023 06:35

I wouldn't. You can get a mist sunscreen that you just spray on, easy to apply to your own back (although the burnt patch on my back means I missed a bit)

PrincessMini · 26/06/2023 06:37

I never have and I'd think it was weird if someone asked me but that's because before I've never had trouble putting suncream on my back so before reading this thread it wouldn't even have occured to me that some people might!

Alargeoneplease89 · 26/06/2023 06:40

Wouldn't a tan mitt for your back work?

tuvamoodyson · 26/06/2023 06:44

Never.

You can’t though. Not underneath your bikini line /central back.

maybe I’m inflexible.

I can’t put cream on my back. My husband has to apply moisturiser to my back every day, after my shower. We are all built differently . I think my problem is I have very narrow shoulders so my arms are not far enough away from my body to bend around to the back. I do Pilates and I am flexible in other ways.
Yes I would put suncream on a strangers back. Only a woman though. Once I was asked by a man at the beach and I refused. I wasn’t quite sure of his motives.

saltrocking · 26/06/2023 08:34

People have asked me. Coz I'm a little old lady lol. We bought the spray type sunscreen this year. I manage to get that elusive back bit with that by myself

I have really wide shoulders and long arms so maybe that's why I've never struggled!

Yes. A woman asked me to at our local lido. Happy to oblige, but probably wouldn’t to w man.
