Avon products - any recommendations?

Just got some of their Skin Soft in the hope it will keep the bastard mosquitos away and they also sent me a catalogue.

I've never used their products and was hoping for some recommendations please.

Their glimmer sticks eyeliners are great

ForeverYellow · 25/06/2023 19:33

I second the glimmer sticks eye liners . I have a variety of colours . The bubble bath is nice too.

EdithWeston · 25/06/2023 19:36

I love the bubble baths!

The nail varnishes are excellent

And I'm a big fan of the Magix primer (it's quite a thick/heavy consistency, but it goes on well and is the best mattifier I've ever come across, with SPF20)

Sunscreen is good too

CandyflossKid · 25/06/2023 19:39

The tinted moisturiser- (spf20)

The glycerin hand cream. They don’t always have it available but my gran used this when I was small and passed it onto my mum and now neither of us find anything comes close to matching it! It absorbs into the skin really well, isn’t sticky like some hand creams and makes your nails grow like crazy. https://avon.uk.com/products/avon-care-nurturing-glycerine-hand-cream

Another vote for glimmer stick here too

Glimmersticks!
bubble baths and shower gels
anew protinol serum. Tis the biz!

KatesLipGloss · 25/06/2023 19:46

The Skin-So-Soft comes in pink and blue

Which one works for midges? Or do they both?

Watchthedoormat · 25/06/2023 20:03

I like
The BB nail varnishes- they really last!
Not so keen on the 'normal' nail varnishes which tend to chip imo.
The lavender & camomile pillow mist- has me relaxed and sleepy in seconds.
All the Planet Spa stuff is nice.
The large 500ml/1 litre bubble baths- my favourite is 'Goodnight Sweetheart'.
The senses body sprays are nice and are lovely in hot weather when kept in the fridge. Currently using a raspberry one.

hopelessbusiness · 25/06/2023 20:08

I like the 3 in 1 cream to powder foundation - goes on really well and lasts all day.
Also glimmersticks 😁

Skin so soft is hit and miss with mosquitoes. It's the original green one that some people say is good.

thathitsthespot · 25/06/2023 20:10

Skin so soft formula has changed - it no longer repels the critters! I've friends with a place in Scotland who stockpiled. It's like when haemorrhoid cream changed and no longer ironed out eye wrinkles.

I do like Avon eye cream duo however.

Not what you asked, but lush ultrabland is a product I would not be without. My skin glows after using it

Toffeesgirl · 25/06/2023 20:38

Great recommendations, thanks.

oh don't say that re mozzies - I'm desperate for something that isn't as severe as deet. The little buggers love me and I react so badly. Maybe I need to start a thread about that!

I take garlic capsules and vitamin capsules. I usually get eaten alive and only got bitten 4 times in 2 weeks in Greece.

Blueuggboots · 25/06/2023 20:52

The Mrs whites unstung hero liquid is meant to be good? Doesn’t contain deet.
