Does anyone have a slushy machine? Should I get one . . . ?

8 months pregnant and addicted to slushy drinks. Pondering whether to buy a machine - but are they any good? Definitely can't stretch to a proper commercial-grade one (they're £1-1.5k!!!) but I've seen a Slush Puppy one on Amazon for £65 that I'd be willing to give a try, if anyone recommends it? Thank you!

We’ve got one - brand is Neo. DD was given it as a present and it’s fab! The syrups can be a bit expensive but lots of great flavours available online.

B&m sell the slush puppy ones. Although buy the crusher version rather than the one you have to add ice to as my cousin and sister had the latter and they are awful whereas our crusher one is fab!

I've got the ice crusher one and it's great. You can use with any drink, so not limited to syrups.

Oh great! Sounds like they're not a total gimmick/useless waste of money, then!

I was looking at the add-salt one, @GlitteryFarts - will cross that one off the list of possibilities, thanks.

Thank you for the link, @edwinbear - looks good. Is that one similar to what you have, @BeautifulWar?

No, I've got the Slush Puppy one that's an ice crusher - no salt required.

DS wants to know if you could use it with coffee?

littleripper · 25/06/2023 18:04

I just use my blender - it works a treat

Thelnebriati · 25/06/2023 18:10

We have a blender, I never thought of trying it!

DeltaAlphaDelta79 · 25/06/2023 18:13

We have the one you add salt to. It uses a ton of ice and usually about one if the big white bottles of table salt for every use. We only got it to make proper slushes once. What a load of rubbish. Dont waste your money.

It has to be a "bar" blender - otherwise it can fuse it. Ours is a Kenwood one but any of the nutribullet style ones work. I have always dreamt of a Blendtec for frozen Margarita heaven 😂

I have a slush puppy one from B and M. Just add ice cubes no salt in this one. Took a few goes to get the right quantity of syrup to ice. I also add some water at the end. Think it was only £25
