Roast beef

This is really boring! But my mother in law gave me a lump of beef. 1.2 kg. I have no idea what cut it is. But it has some fat on top and looks fairly lean….how do I roast it? High/ low, how long?

It depends how you like your beef. I would do it on a high heat for 20 minutes and then lower heat for about 40 minutes and that would be cooked medium. I would increase or decrease by about 15 minutes if you prefer rare or well done.

Without knowing what cut it is, I would probably pot roast a lean cut rather than oven roast it. Low and slow, with liquid to keep it moist.
