ASOS- do you pay more to buy an item of clothing from ASOS than you would in a shop?

I bought a pair of trousers from ASOS. The brand is Nobody's Child. I paid £50 for them, but they have a tag on that says £45.

Just wondering if this is the norm? I have been buying my clothes from ASOS for years without a thought.
