I’m off work poorly so feeling a bit sorry for myself. It’s been one health problem after another for over 2 years now 😥
Anyway, the sun is shining so I might take some magazines & sit in the back garden with the bunnies. I had a subscription then didn’t get round to reading much so there’s a fair pile to wade through. Should really sort the kitchen first though as it looks like a bomb’s gone off! DD14 is being loud & silly on the phone to her girlfriend. She’s obsessed with getting Taylor Swift tickets. I think they will probably cost a small fortune & I will end up being labelled the worlds worst Mum if I say we can’t afford them. The prices don’t get released beforehand apparently.
DH is working til 5 but has a long lunch break. Stir fry with bacon & noodles for tea. Might watch Fishermans Friends tonight.

Sorry to hear your feeling poorly, OP. It's rubbish when you feel like you never really get better before getting ill again! I've had a chest problem for months and it gets me really down.
I'm eating cold leftover pizza in the kitchen, avoiding my children and listening to Florence and the Machine. Planning to go to a local fair but I'm pretty sure I have no money in my account. Could we go and just look at things? Probably not.

Wish they would just let me stay in and watch Glastonbury highlights like we did during lockdown. We got glowsticks out and decorated the house. I'm a lone parent and sometimes I feel like it's all a bit monotonous.

WTFAreYouForReal · 24/06/2023 10:24

I'm sitting by the pool, we are having a lazy day today.

Might plant some tomatoes.

Will read some of my new book, cilka's journey, the sequel to the tattooist of auswitz.

We are having garlic chilli prawns, in butter tonight. A belated birthday dinner.

So not much going on here, just relaxing in the garden really.

massistar · 24/06/2023 10:27

Sorry to hear you're feeling poorly OP. Go sit in the garden in the sunshine. The kitchen will wait.

All quiet here after a very busy few weeks. DD was at a sleepover last night and DS has gone to work. DH getting ready to go out so I'm sitting on the sofa with tea and my kindle in rare blessed peace.

RightOnTheEdge · 24/06/2023 10:30

Sorry you are not feeling well OP.

Getting ready to go to dd's award ceremony for her football team.
We are going to the sports village where they play so they can give out trophies and have a picnic.
We also are playing a girls v parents rounders game which I'm dreading because I feel old and fat and worried I'll just be useless.

My kitchen looks like a bomb site so I'll have to come back and sort that out.

Maybe having fish and chips for tea 🙂

GoodChat · 24/06/2023 10:36

Ah the kitchen can wait! Hope you feel better soon.

We bought a very old school house last year. DP's doing a load of DYI, I'm giving everything else a big clean. The kids are playing Snap. They're only 1 and 4 so its very cute listening to the older teaching the younger!

Anyone else? I love these threads & find them oddly comforting

I also like to hear what everyone has done.

We had swimming lessons this morning and then I took the boys for mac Donald's and a walk in the woods. We got too hot and had a little drive around waiting for dh to finish work.

Then we had some news of a death in the family so dh has gone to be with his parents. Eldest ds is asleep - his melatonin works wonders. Me and youngest ds are chilling in the bedroom on screens. The boys had chicken, chips and veg for dinner. I might just have toast at this rate

MissyB1 · 24/06/2023 19:40

Enjoy the garden OP, it’s a beautiful evening. Dh is doing lamb burgers on the bbq and I’m sitting out with a glass of wine.

Shinier · 24/06/2023 19:41

We’ve been a local fair today and now me and my daughter are watching a film eating cheesy chips. I’m drinking wine. The world is well

BreviloquentBastard · 24/06/2023 19:46

Took a load of old clothes to the charity shop this morning, washed the car, mooched round a garden centre for a bit, and have otherwise had a lazy blobby day in the garden with the dogs.

Dropped DD off at this weekend's sleepover, apparently they will be camping, I dread to think. I'm sure WKD will be involved, as it was when I was her age. I try not to remember how it seemed like two minutes ago she still needed help tying her shoes.

Husband is upstairs listening to Ghost at ten million decibels while having a shave and trying to cut his own hair. Can't wait for that reveal.

I'm sat on the sofa with a piña colada watching Charmed and trying to finish knitting a tea cosy I promised myself I'd finish.

LemonDrizzle10 · 24/06/2023 19:59

It’s too hot where I live so I’m hiding indoors. The 6 month old pup has continued to bring a million things into the lounge to chew on the rug. It’s driving me insane. Both dogs could do with a sprint but it’s still too hot to take them out.

troppibambini6 · 24/06/2023 21:14

Sorry you're feeling ill op.

I'm on the sofa on Mumsnet,
Dh out with dogs
Dd1 revising for last alevel on Monday
Dd2 upstairs. She wanted to earn some money cleaning out cars today. She got half way through mine and went out with her friends so I ended up finishing it off despite being horribly hungover.
She then came back and started dhs car. After about half an hour I realised I could smell bleach. Basically she had sprayed HG mould remover all over the inside of dh car. No idea what was in her head but meant all of us scrubbing everywhere trying to get it off before it did any damage. Ruining my favourite trousers in the process
Ds 1 and 2 are in the garden playing football.

Silkierabbit · 24/06/2023 21:35

DH and I have been swimming and to jacuzzi and steam room, did 86 lengths.

Had pasta for dinner and lemon tart

DD has been to her boating job all day.

DH went to pick up the Maine Coons cat biscuits and we have them.

Sorry you are unwell.

lucysmam · 24/06/2023 21:43

We went into town this morning emergency prom shopping - dd1's shoes and jewellery haven't arrived 🙄 Managed to find both (jewellery nicer than originally ordered too!) for £8 so treated her to some other bits as well.

Treated dd2 to some make up and some trainers, and she picked a bracelet and earrings too. And I treated myself as well 😊

We found a bakery stall on the market we've never seen before & bought three massive pastries for £4.50. Me and dd1 shared one, they were THAT big!

Since we've been in, we've had tea, and showered...and we're ignoring the fact that dd2 opened the curtain a touch overenthusiastically & pulled the curtain down 🙄

I've just packed up my crochet & will head to bed shortly. Not a clue about everyone else - it's Saturday so late night night for dd2, & dd1 usually goes not long after me.

Bluebells1970 · 24/06/2023 21:46

We're watching Lizzo at Glastonbury on the TV with the fan on full blast. Can't have any windows open as the fecking NDN's are having a party in their front garden. My patience is running very thin already and it's early yet .....

Hope you're feeling better OP. I registered for Taylor Swift tickets and my DD's are desperate to go,...... but I'm not holding out much hope!

ThreeRingCircus · 24/06/2023 21:53

DDs had a friend round to play this morning and they happily played in the garden so I sat and read my magazine.

I did a couple of hours of gardening..... mainly watering but also moving some pots around and putting in cane supports for my tomatoes and sunflowers. I did a bit of weeding but then got far too hot!

Then met a couple of friends for a drink in a beer garden and a much needed catch up.

Home, a bit of TV and did bedtime for DDs (they're 6 and 4.) Then DH and I had moussaka for dinner and we're now crashed out on the sofa. I think I'll go to bed soon and read more of my book.
