Niche weekend away

I have a niche geeky interest that I love and have done since a teenager. I'm 42, female, married and have two teenage boys. My husband and kids don't have the same interest as me.
There's a weekend convention I could go on, accommodation and attending total 400 pounds which I have. But it would just be me. I wouldn't be spending family money, we're doing OK at the moment and DH is very happy for me to go.
Is it very selfish for me to want to go?

Why on earth would it be selfish? You are allowed a life outside of your husband and children.

I've been on hen parties or away with my sisters on girls weekends but this is the first time I've been away, alone, just for me! Also 400 seems a lot for a fun weekend although I can afford it.

Update I got tickets. Now I just have to gear myself to meet 149 plus strangers for a weekend!

I used to love going to events or travelling alone, until I got my needy husband and (understandably) needier 1 yr old. I hope you have the best time
